Jared Gelfond speaks with Texas point guard Deron Williams at the Adidas ABCD camp in New Jersey last week.

Question: How do you feel you have played here so far?

Deron: I played alright but not the way I think I should be playing. I guess its because I'm not familiar with the guys I am playing with really.

 Question: What part of your game do you feel you need most to improve on?

Deron: My quickness on defense in being able to guard a smaller player.

Question: What colleges now are on your final list?

 Deron: Illinois, Georgia Tech, Maryland, and Tennessee

Question: On to Illinois when did your relationship with Coach Gillispie, Self and Roberts begin?

Deron: They have been recruiting me since I was a freshman while they were at Tulsa. We have a good relationship and talk a lot on the phone

Question: Is Illinois still your leader?

 Deron: Yeah, Illinois and Georgia Tech

Question: With Dee Brown already being part of the class, have you talked to Dee Brown at all about coming to Illinois

Deron: Yeah, he called me one time and we talked for like 5 minutes and he said he was going to call me back and didn't so I don't know.

Question: Have you thought about playing in the same backcourt with him?

Deron: Yeah, I have thought about it

Question: You do want to play the point in college right?

 Deron: The point guard is all I play. I don't want to go anywhere where I play the two.

Question: And, how has your team done so far at ABCD?

Deron: We lost 2 early and took four straight and lost the last one by a lot.

Question: When do you expect to make your decision?

Deron: I am going to take my visit firsts. I am probably going to visit all four schools and see what they have to offer me.
